Sand Septic

The USDA classification procedure has defined the words clay, silt, sand, and gravel. For a stratum to be a soil, it must be described using those four terms, and, except for structure, those four terms only. To say “caliche” is not in accordance with the USDA procedure, and therefore not acceptable under Chapter 285.

The use of correct terminology is a very simple, yet generally overlooked. As we work to improve the performance and professionalism in this industry, the least any of us can do is to follow the rules, and to use correct terminology while we do so.
